Saturday the 09th May saw the official opening ceremony of the factory extension in Viar Valvole, a manufacturer of floating and trunnion-mounted ball valves - mainly for Gas service.  Eric Buchanan attended on behalf of Trouvay and Cauvin.

There has been substantial investment in Viar, which apart from providing more space, clean production paths and better craneage, enables the company to test valves in sub-sea conditions (see the hyperbaric chamber), to impact-test steel and to pressure test valves up to 54" 900lb rated.  They are now seriously looking at another building as well to accommodate future growth.

Viar is defying the market trends, with an order book which is bigger than their turnover for the whole of last year (in excess of 20m euros).  They are working a lot in Iran and Kuwait.  Their growth had been fantastic over a short period of time.

 

T&C has exclusivity in Libya, and works on the UK Engineering Contractors, sharing the UK with Valvecare,  who stock and service end-users in the North Sea.
